This London / Brighton trio are actually a quintet for this record at least and find themselves on Oxford’s underground imprint Try Harder (think Foals, Youth Movies, Blood Red Shoes). This is fractured alternative folk – Ok, despite my best attempts to describe this newish genre it’s one that’s
already well established - Vicky Steer delivers well with an understated voice that resides within a general theme of twisted folk music. “Clothes For Horse” stands out with electric guitar jangles and a hint of country but the main theme at play is that of slightly ghostly, distantly pretty ballads.
